Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Kielbasa Sausage
  • 1 loaf of white bread(can be any brands…the cheap ones work just fine)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms chopped
  • large can or 2 small cans of chicken broth.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper

Method

Step 1

Go ahead and break out the large skillet. Turn burner on medium low heat. Put your butter in the skillet and let it melt. Don't have the heat too high or the butter will burn.

Step 2

In the mean time cut up your Kielbasa sausage into bit sized pieces. Once the butter is melted, add the cut up sausage to the pan. Let this slowly brown.

Step 3

While this is happening, you can go ahead and chop up the celery, onion and mushroom. Once complete, go ahead and add to your sausage and stir every two minutes or so. Add your salt and pepper.

Step 4

Let this continue to cook in the pan until the sausage is lightly browned, the mushroom, celery and onion are soft.

Step 5

In a separate sauce pan pour in your chicken broth. Allow this to heat to a lazy boil. Also at the same time, toast all of the bread in the loaf. You can either do each individually in the toast or you can put them all on a cookie sheet, put the oven or broil and cook each side until lightly toasted.

Step 6

Once the bread is toasted, but into bite sized squares. Add the sausage mixture, bread bites and chicken broth into a baking dish. Make sure its all mixed together.

Step 7

Pre heat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake in the oven for approx 20-30 minutes. It will be done when the whole mixture is firm and not watery. Enjoy!
